The 10-Day Complete Beginner Course is open to complete beginners with no experience or artistic background required. Yes, and it is particularly well suited to PMU artists. Your existing understanding of needle technique, skin behaviour, and client management transfers directly into fine line tattooing. Many of our most successful graduates came from a PMU background, and the instructor tailors feedback to where you are coming from.

Yes, the 4-Day Masterclass is specifically designed for this. Whether you want to refine your technique, work on consistency, or add styles like botanical, script, or geometric work, the course content is adapted to where you are and where you want to go.

We cap every class at a maximum of 6 students. This is not a large training room setup. You will receive direct, personalised feedback on your work throughout every day from your instructor. The small class size is what allows us to genuinely develop your technique rather than deliver generic instruction.

Day one covers machine setup, needle and cartridge selection, and foundational lining technique. Day two focuses on refinement: speed, pressure, angle, shading, and troubleshooting common problems. Day three introduces design transfer and your first live model session on real skin. Day four includes a second live model session and business guidance on pricing, finding clients in Dublin, and building your social media presence.

The 10-Day course covers everything from needle theory and hygiene through to taking your first paying client. Topics include skin anatomy, machine configuration, lining, shading, stippling, design stencilling, multiple live model sessions, IPC Level 2 Health and Safety, and business setup guidance tailored to working as a tattoo artist in Ireland.

Yes. Live model sessions are included in both courses. Tattooing on real skin builds the muscle memory, pressure control, and confidence that synthetic practice cannot replicate. All models are pre-screened and fully consented before the course.

Your course fee includes a full professional-grade fine line tattoo kit that is yours to keep and take home after the course. This includes a professional tattoo machine, a complete set of cartridge needles, inks, and the consumables you need to start working. You do not need to bring any equipment with you.

You receive a CPD accredited certificate on completion of either course. The 10-Day course additionally includes an IPC Level 2 in Health and Safety. Both are recognised across the UK and Ireland and are the certifications most insurance providers and local councils require before you can practise professionally.

Your full professional kit is included in the course fee, so there is no need to bring equipment. We ask that you bring comfortable clothing as you will be seated and working throughout the day. A pre-course information pack with everything you need to know is sent after booking.

Our Dublin training venue is located in Dublin City Centre, easily accessible by Dart, Luas, and all major bus routes. Full venue details including the exact address and directions are sent to you with your booking confirmation.

Courses run Monday to Thursday (4-Day) or Monday to Friday across two weeks (10-Day), typically 9am to 5pm each day. Exact timings are confirmed with your booking confirmation. You should plan to be present for the full duration of each day.

Yes. You can secure your place with a deposit of £200 (4-Day Masterclass) or £300 (10-Day Beginner Course), with the remaining balance due at least 14 days before your course start date. Paying in full upfront is also available during checkout.

The full cancellation and refund policy is outlined at finelinetattooacademy.co.uk/terms. In general, deposits are non-refundable but are transferable to another course date if you give sufficient notice. We recommend reading the terms before booking.

Many of our graduates take their first paying client within weeks of completing the course. You leave with your CPD certificate, a full professional kit, and portfolio pieces from your live model sessions. Day four includes guidance on finding your first Dublin clients, pricing your work, and building a social media presence.

Licensing requirements for tattoo artists in Ireland are set at the local authority level. Many Dublin studios and insurance providers require a CPD accredited certificate as part of their requirements.
